The David Movement

The David Movement is all about prioritising extravagant worship, releasing children and young people in their own creative expression of praise, and putting God’s glory on display for all to see.

We had a wonderful time celebrating God in the city centre with dance, music and praise!

On 21st September 2024, we went out into City Square, Leeds to share the joy and hope of God with the passers by. We were all inspired by the creativity, passion and boldness of our young people!

About The David Movement

The David Movement is all about prioritising extravagant worship, releasing children and young people in their own creative expression of praise, and putting God’s glory on display for all to see.

We believe that young people are instrumental in us all seeing and living in the realities of the kingdom of God, and that if we can create safe spaces to equip and release them in their own creative expression of praise and worship, it will release blessing in our city and beyond.

This initiative is inspired by David in the Bible – he prioritised day and night worship which transformed a nation. He sought after the heart of God and used his creative gifts to give God all the glory.

The David Movement was set up by Mary Swain. Mary is a dancer, teacher and writer and she also does the bookkeeping for Missional Generation! Find out more here.
